Osseous Surgery or Pocket Reduction

Gum disease is treated by eliminating the periodontal pockets. Traditionally the infected gum tissue is trimmed away and uneven bone tissue is recontoured. This is still an effective way of treating gum disease, especially in isolated areas. Conventional pocket reduction surgery may cause undesirable gum recession, especially in esthetic areas. In such cases other options should be considered including Laser Assisted New Attachment Procedure (LANAP).

At the Advanced Periodontal Center we offer both traditional and LANAP - contact Dr. Ortiz-Ramsey today for a consultation to see which option is best suited for your particular needs.
